About Me

Hi, I’m Becky – a mum, a psychology student, and someone who knows how much ADHD can turn life upside down.Living with ADHD isn’t just about forgetfulness or fidgeting. It’s the emotional chaos, the constant overthinking, the guilt, the grief, and the deep overwhelm — especially when you’re trying to hold things together for your child, your family, or yourself.I’m in my fourth year studying applied psychology, and I have been working in mental health and wellbeing settings for some time now. More importantly, I have lived through exactly what I now want to help others with: the overwhelm of parenting a child with ADHD or suspected ADHD, the roller coaster of emotions that comes with a late diagnosis, and the messy aftermath. I want to walk alongside others, to help them navigating their journey. This is why I decided to start Thriving with ADHD. I know how lonely and confusing this path can feel. When I was trying to understand what was going on with my own brain — and also trying to navigate being a parent to a child with ADHD — what I really needed was validation: to know I wasn’t going crazy, I wasn’t making it up, and to have someone to talk to who understood what I was going through.I didn’t know I had ADHD until my daughter was flagged as possibly having it. While studying at university, things started to click, and people kept saying I might have it too. That set me off on a long journey trying to understand myself, support my daughter, and find ways to cope — all while juggling study, parenting alone, and barely keeping up.I still don’t have it all figured out. But one thing I can say with certainty is that I care deeply about supporting others in whatever way they need. I want to help raise awareness so neurodiverse individuals feel more seen and heard. ADHD, as I’ve come to understand it, is a gift — we just sometimes need help tapping into it.My role is not to diagnose or treat, I’m here to offer support. I aim to hold a grounded, compassionate space where you can pause, make sense of things, and take steps forward in a way that feels manageable to you.I look forward to sharing this journey with you - Becky x
